Autumn Thoughts

I came accross this :

"How might we account for sun-warmed pumpkins in coppery colors and golden woods against glassy skies? Does autumn set the world aglow? oe is October lit from within?"

I feel a scrapbook page coming on......

~ Scrappy Saturday ~

I was in Winfield on Saturday to attend the Crazy Croppers 5th anniversary celebration crop. It went from 10am to midnight!

I managed to get a few pages done and start the "honeymoon album".

On the scrapping front, I have many pages done and plan on sharing them soon.

What a Mess!

This is what Carson decided to do before I was going to work - and YES he did eat the dirt too! He pulled a plant on top of himself, I had a hunch he was up to no good when it got very quiet.

Applefest

The aroma of freshly-baked apple pie, apple slushies and fresh pressed juice welcomed us to Hanna & Hanna Orchards Farm Market. We were there to celebrate -"APPLEFEST" on Sunday Sept. 24th a celebration of "everything apple." . Carson got to go on a hay ride and stroll through the orchard with dad picking apples. He got so excited letting out a little squeal whenever one lay in his path.
What a serene peaceful place......I enjoyed watching them make fresh apple juice, listening to the local music - Carson did his share of grooving to the music too! - and taste testing the different varieties of apples. We didn't leave empty handed and we'll definatley be back for more honey and apples.

New Job & Picking Plums

I 've been working for the past month at the Wholesale Club. It has been good up untill they started cutting my hours back for fall. I just can't work 15 hrs a week.

So I was in the little coffee shop in the mall and the topic of work came up. It just happened thet they were looking for someone fulltime...Mon-Fri ! They not only serve fancy coffees but also make candy and chocolates, and distribute their goods locally as well as in Alberta.

So I start my new job on Monday at 10:00am, and I get the same wage as I did at the WC....just FT hours.

The other day during our evening walk we stopped at our neighbours to pick some plums. Oh yummmm they're delicious!

20 Years Late

I heard this song by Aaron Lines a while back and it brought tears to my eyes. I just love it :)

20 Years Late

Hey mom I know that it's late, hope I didn't wake you
Yeah, everything is O.K., just needed to talk to you
Today I had one of those days
But I didn't call to complain
Just to say everything that I didn't for all of those years
You were a taxicab driver, a nurse and a maid
A waitress, a cook and a shoulder to lay
My head on to cry on, when nothing was going my way
You knew every answer without cracking a book
And I took for granted that I had it so good
And I'm sorry it's taken me so long to say
Thank you...I love you..... Twenty years late

It's funny how time passing by can change your perspective
A little while out on your own can sure make you think
I don't know how you did it
No I can't find one spare minute
The days run together but I don't remember you
Ever letting us down

You were the judge and the jury when I did wrong
Been my biggest fan from my very first song
The gas in the engine that always kept me moving on
A seamstress a counselor and the one referee
That could cold stop a fight between my brother and me
And I'm sorry it's taken me so long to say
Thank you....I love you .....Twenty years late...

I'll let you go now
But I hope that you know now how I feel
Thank you..... for making me the man I've become
I love you and I will always be your son

Mom that's all I called to say
20 years late...
20 years late...
20 years late...

Yep....There I go getting all teary eyed ;)

Reflections of Hutch

As I look at this photo I know Hutch is waiting for Brodie to get back into the car so he can give him a big kiss. Hutch knows what his purpose is, knows he loves us with all his heart.

Some Pages and a card

A photo of my mom and Carson when they came to visit on Canada Day.

Here is one of the cards I made for the fair...but I decided I didn't want to enter that category when I registered in August....oh well.

I was playing around with this page....not thrilled with it just playing around.

~ A day at the fair: IPE, Armstrong ~

I had 2 days off this long weekend so we spent one of them at the fair in Armstrong.
Here are some pictures from our day :

Carson LOVED the goats....wasn't so sure about the sheep after it went "baaaaaaaaaaahhhh" in his face. He was in tears until he saw the goats then it was all smiles.

He was also intrigued by the chickens and birds so we spent a fair amount of time in chicken/rabbit exhibit barn. This little crower was so funny, I tried so hard to get a shot of him crowing. Everythime he'd crow I'd miss and wait with the camera in hand...as soon as I took the camera out of his face he crowed...go figure.

Call me old fashioned but I enjoyed looking at the home crafts, baked goods /preserves and garden veggies. This is what I love about a fall fair....not all the comercial mumbo jumbo. Just the good down home country fair stuff!

Blogger is being a pain in the %$@#@@!.....I 'll upload more pictures soon :)

~ The Storm ~

This is a photo from the lightning storm that swept through the Shuswap this past July.
