~ Renovations ~

WE did it finally....ripped out that old yucky, icky germ infested blue carpet from the basement.

Yahoooo ....what a freeing experiance.

Brodie has the laminate(Sacramento Pine) in and has been working on finishing the baseboards. It looks great and I'll try to have some photos uploaded as soon as I can. One wall was painted the same color as our livingroom and my craft area and hallway is painted a nice calm green color. The two colors really look great together. A guy from the flooring place is coming to measure our front entrance for the new lino.

How exciting!

~ Snapshotz from the garden part 2~

FINALLY...my sunflowers have decided to show their pretty faces to the world!

A busy bee, hard at work in the bee balm.

This is one of those vegetables that "hide", I spotted this HUGE spaghetti squash. It's bigger than a football, and hasn't even begun to turn yellow yet! It just keeps growing and growing.

I just finished harvesting the snap peas I had planted in the hanging baskets. mmmm mmmm yummmm!

~ Summer Snapshotz part 2 ~

Leah & Alex came over to give me a hand in the jungle I call a garden.
I was wadding through the knee high ….no excuse me waist high mass of vines and leaves. When I spotted the biggest gold zucchini I have ever seen. While we were in the front yard taking some photo’s Leah was stung by a wasp…OUCHIE!

~ My Thoughts~

Here is another page for my BOM(Book of Me).

Carson's 1st birthday is just around the corner. I thought it would be fitting to create a page on how I felt when I was pregnant with him.

So here it is:

Journaling reads:

This photo was taken a couple days after I found out I was expecting. I was pooling with emotions and an uneasy feeling overcame me. When most people would have been jumping around excited and wanting to shout it out to the world, I just wanted to hide under the nearest rock. I was alone in how I felt; Brodie was very excited and didn’t understand how I was feeling. When I was sad he would perceive that as I didn’t want to be pregnant.

In reality I was AFRAID, how would I measure up as a mother? Would I meet my own expectations I put upon myself? I worried about the obvious; how is the labour going to go? Or will I really be capable of looking after a tiny fragile baby? Then I thought about the future, when he grows up am I going to be able to instill in him the importance of being a responsible individual. I wished for him to RESPECT and LOVE himself as well as others, to take PRIDE in everything around him. What about VALUES, Could I to teach him the value of a dollar, as cliché as that sounded it was on my list.

It took me nine months to accept the fact that I was going give life to someone who’s going to be born whole and free – and realized it’s up to US as a FAMILY

to shape him into the man he will be,

not just me –

I’M NOT ALONE.
Like it has been said ; it takes a village to raise a child.

~ Snapshotz from the flower garden ~

Bee balm always looks so funny when it begins to bloom; Like a man with a funny hat, a funky hairdo,or a jester :)

~ What is this flower? ~

Is it possible for someone to love a flower?

Well I was waiting at the bus stop when out of the corner of my eye I spied these darling dainty little purple flowers hanging from a vine.

Does anyone know what they are called?

~2 more pages ~

~Cropped OUT! but I did get some pages done~

Here is the journaling for this page...the journaling is hiden behind the photo.

Ever since the purchase of our new home, we’ve been plugging along getting as much done in our yard as possible. So it’s no wonder we made our veggie garden top priority.

I have a new love these days. “Seeds” seeds are arguably the most fascinating objects around! Some are so tiny you need a magnifying glass to examine them. How these pinpricks of life manage to grow into great plants is truly amazing. Yet whatever these seeds look like they brim with the knowledge that we hope to see blessed with a garden full of fresh vegetables and beautiful flowers.

So in my attempt to beautify our space I began to germinate seeds! It’s nuts but I can’t help it I’ve caught the gardening bug. So in the beginning of April tiny brown peat pellets began to occupy our old fish tank in the rec. room. I anticipated great things with my tiny seedlings, but do I really need to nurse along 12 roma tomato seedlings or 24 nasturtiums? Where on earth was I going to find room for all of them? And not to mention the Zuchinni and Squash – 4 Varieties!

I’ll either be baking a lot of zuchinni bread or there will be a lot of Razing going on. (random acts of zuchinni)

Breathtaking Scenery

Here is one of my latest pages, the picture quality is horrible! I've unhooked that dreaded scanner and am on the hunt for a new one. So for the time being I'll have to photograph my pages.

The photograph was taken from a look out just off the TC highway.

~ Happy Canada Day, EH! ~

~Our Vegetable Garden---> The Progression~

Here is a new picture of our vegetable garden. To date, we have harvested:
9 - Zuchinni
3 - Medium sized white onions
2 - small purple onions
1 - Spaghetti Squash
1 - Cucumber
3 - Kohl Rabi
1 - Bowl full of peas
Numerous baskets full of lettuce.
and it's only mid summer!

Here's what the garden looked like at the end of March:

**We removed the apple tree as it was in the way of my potting shed. Poor planning on the previous owners part. I would have not planted that there.**

A very odd cloud formation from the other night.
