Blue Eyes

My folks and Carson when he was 3 months old.
This is a page I did a couple months ago but since my scanner was being "difficult" I never got around to scanning it. So I played around with the gamma etc......and now it seems to be working again.....well for now anyways!

Watched the 2 hour season premier of Medium. This is one of my favorite shows and am so glad it's back for another season.

I have a little confession.....I bought a box of chocolates from my old employer....and well I ate them ALL! They were going to be a gift for someone. (Sorry Wende! :( ) I PROMISE to make sure the next box makes it to the mailbox!

Thoughts...and burnt toast ?

I'm nervous - not nervous in a shakey sorta way just butterfly nervous, I guess. I start my new job tomorrow and I'm just worried I won't "fit in". I'm trying to think positive.....but those butterflies are flying aound like crazy.

I got an email the other day from a lady asking me to submit some layouts for a DT call? ..... hmmmmmm?

Heroes was on tonight, I CAN'T WAIT for next weeks episode ...... Thus ....the burnt toast comment.......it was a cafe two of the characters were having breakfast in.....burnt toast what a neat name for a cafe!

Carson and our neighbours St. Bernard Sebastion. A BIG lovable giant.

Random Roadtrip

It was 9:00am when a brilliant idea sprung to my mind ..... Why not go and visit Oma for the day?

So I called her...ummm... not realizing she was still in bed, I figured that out by the fumbleing for the phone. She sounded excited to here that we would be coming. I then decided why not invite Leah and Alex? Well Leah wasn't up to it so we stopped bye on our way out to pick up Alex. This would be his first roadtrip with Aunty and Uncle.

My Oma lives in Barriere which is about 2 hours from our home. We know of a short cut which takes you around Adams lake, but the road is gravel. We decided to take a chance and go for it! The road wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and the bumpiness and me trusting Brodie's driving skills as he navigated along the side of the mountain..... was drowned out by Carson's tunes.....yes an hour of Raffi's "Baby Beluga" and Big Bird's "The wheels on the bus"!

Carson and his Great Grandmother.

The pooped out travellers.

Take off your coat...stay a while :)

A layout I did on a picture I took of our jackets lined up at the back door.

Salmon Run

It was a sunny October day when we set out with Char. We went to meet up with Ma & Pa at the Provincial Park on the Adams River. It was PACKED the park was at full to capacity with many visitors from all over the world. This is the largest Salmon run in BC, which only happens every 4 years. We walked along the shore and Carson loved every minute of it, stopping here and there to pick up rocks or touch the trees….my little nature buff. I took many photographs and even had a chance to try out the underwater capabilities of our digital camera.

Watching the Adams River sockeye salmon run leads me to ponder the miracle of their journey.
I used some lovely Lil' Davis chipboard alphas.

Upside Down

A litle something I thought I'd share...I found myself smiling while I hummmmmed to one of my favorite Jack Johnson songs from the Curious George Soundtrack.....so upbeat :) just what I needed these last few days, Thanks Jack!

Who’s to say what’s impossible
Well they forgot this world keeps spinning
And with each new day I can feel a change in everything
And as the surface breaks reflections fade
But in some ways they remain the same
And as my mind begins to spread it’s wings
There’s no stopping curiosity
I want to turn the whole thing upside down
I’ll find the things they say just can’t be found
I’ll share this love I find with everyone
We’ll sing and dance to mother nature’s songs
I don’t want this feeling to go away
Who’s to say I can’t do everything
Well I can try, and as I roll along
I begin to find Things aren’t always just what they seem
I want to turn the whole thing upside down
I’ll find the things they say just can’t be found
I’ll share this love I find with everyone
We’ll sing and dance to mother nature’s songs
This world keeps spinning
And there’s no time to waste
Well it all keeps spinning spinning Round and round and upside down Who’s to say what’s impossible and can’t be found
I don’t want this feeling to go away
Please don’t go away
Please don’t go away
Please don’t go away
Is this how it’s supposed to be
Is this how it’s supposed to be

Not much scrappn' going on

I've been so overwhelmed with my "life" these days that I've neglected my creativeness. I'm working on some projects tonight....finally after over a week of no mojo....it hits me :) Go figure.

Some pictures from todays Sunday drive to visit friends and family. There was a fire on the side of the highway on the way home, so the photo is not of high quality.

~~~~A little side note~~~~
*** I really must get myself that Jack Johnson CD!!! Yep, loving it :)***
Some People Change
A tid bit from the Montgomery Gentry song Some People Change:
Thank God for those who make it: Let them be the Light. (Let them be the light) (Some people change.) Here's to the strong; thanks to the brave. Don't give up hope: some people change. Against all odds, against the grain, Love finds a way: some people change. Some people change. (Some people change)
*** Sometimes just a piece, a snipet from a song can say so much***
Gingerbread Cookies
Saturday was cookie making day in our home. We've been wanting to put our new stove to good use so we invited Leah and Alex over and we made gingerbread cookies.
Alex had so much fun with uncle Brodie that he didn't want to go home :)
Carson tried to sneak in here and there. I'm sure when he's old enough he'll be making cookies too!
Swede Photography Challenge...
This week is all about the workplace.I take my camera to work ALOT....okay everyday! I took these ones on Friday but I really must take one tomorrow in order to qualify :) Julie has some great challenges so make sure if you can to check them out at Scrapbooking Swede.
Diamonds on The Inside
I've always liked this song by Ben Harper Diamonds on the inside.
Diamonds On The Inside
Written by: Ben Harper
i knew a girl her name was truth
she was a horrible liar
she couldn't spend one day alone
but she couldn't be satisfied
when you have everything
you have everything to lose
she made herself a bed of nails
and she's planning on putting it to use
but she had diamonds on the inside
she had diamonds on the inside
she had diamonds on the inside
diamonds
a candle throws its light into the darkness
in a nasty world so shines a good deed
make sure the fortune that you seek
is the fortune that you need
tell me why the first to ask
is the last to give every time
what you say and do not mean
follows you close behind
she had diamonds on the inside
she had diamonds on the inside
she wore diamonds on the inside
diamonds like the soldier
long standing under fire
any change comes as a relief
let the giver's name remain unspoken
she is just a generous thief
she had diamonds on the inside
she had diamonds on the inside
she wore diamonds on the inside
diamonds
