~Random Road Trip~

**Having Troubles uploading Pictures** Those will follow :)

Okay so we set out Friday morning to the Wildlife Park in Kamloops. We spent a couple hours checking everything out, taking lots of pictures etc.... Carson loved it. He got excited when he saw the bear and started talking giberish to the elk!.

HOT ! HOT ! HOT ! Dry, Dusty...and bleck!!!! I really don't miss Kamloops!

Our next destination was Vernon to get some batteries for my SLR from LD, a Timmies then back on the road....destination Kelowna for some A&W. Once we left Kelowna we really didn't know which way to go so decided at the last minute to head to Peachland then to Penticton(watched a plane fly into the airport) for a much needed stretch and pit stop. WE stopped at a campground and took in the scenery.

I've never travelled down that way so I was very intrigued by all the orchards and wineries, so beautiful. Once out of Penticton the topic of going to the coast came up and so we took the excit to Ollala and Keremeos. We stopped in Keremeos for a bit, I've never seen so many fruit stands before! lol!

Drove through a "small" town called Hedley....strange bunch of folks in that small town and on to Penticton to fill up the tank. Now this is where the trip gets disgusting.....while travelling through the VERY winding road Carson did the unthinkable. He PUKED everywhere!! Not once but twice...and I was covered, the carseat was covered, he was covered! It was not a pretty site....and the stink! just grose! We were in the middle of nowhere and I had to try to clean it up the best I could without puking myself. Not an easy task. I finally got it cleaned up as best I could, We had to go the rest of the trip in a smelly car.....and the heat on top of it made it worse. So we travelled trough beautiful Manning Park...breathtaking.

As we turned a corner there was a huge cloud and Brodie thought it was smoke. I new better than that and said " no honey thats SMOG" ! It was 9:30 when we made our way to Chilliwack where we spent the night. If you could believe this....the Chilliwack air smelt better than our car!

Bright and early the next morning we headed out in search of an air freshner for the car. Found one at the Gas station down the road, so now the car had a pukey tropical smell.

We've been looking for a new vehicle, something alot bigger and roomier than our civic, so we headed to the Fraser Valley Auto Mall to see if they had any used 4runners or Nissan X-terras. 2 hours later we found an X-Terra, one that we could have traded the civic straight across for....but seeing that the intrest rates have gone up that would have meant our monthly payments would rise too, no new vehicle for us.

Well it was just after twelve noon when we headed back towards Chilliwack and to the Heritage Barn to check out a dog show and some other goings on. Well the dog show sucked....Carson liked it and Hutch got himself a HUGE beef Leg! (Hutch stayed home with my sister)

Us weary travellers set out on the road this time heading to Minter Gardens where we spent the next 2 1/2 hours taking in the beautiful gardens.

Then it was back on the road up the Coqu. and then onto the Ok. Connector back into Kelowna then back home to Salmon Arm! Arival time 10:30pm Saturday night! What a fun Random trip....minus the puke!

What a trip - looks like Carson has the family "puke" while travelling windy road "geans". I remember those days all to clearly, also remember becoming more prepared after a few "very Smelly" trips. When the vehicle was packing kids, it never left without icecream buckets (with lids), plastic bags with wet wash clothes, a jug of water, extra change of clothes, and a couple of rolls of paper towels. Of course being prepared didn't eliminate any of the car sick problems, but made it somewhat easier to deal with. The old Lac Le Jeune road was a killer - had to take many a road side stops. Glad you got to take in some of the beautiful country side. Love ma
